One of the original sites in the White Alice Communications System (WACS), the troposperic scatter telecommunications station at Indian Mountain, callsign UTO, was a terminal site on the WACS system and connected to the WACS relay site at Bear Creek via a 75 mile shot to the Southeast. Equipped with a pair of 30ft parabolic dishes operating at 1mW of transmission power, the site's was located alongside the Upper Camp site of the Indian Mountain Air Force Station, at an approximate altitude of 4,200ft.

Operating as the primary communications link for Indian Mountain AFS into the 1970's, the White Alice site was idled following the fielding of satellite communications gear onsite and was left in caretaker status through the end of manned operations at the site. Abandoned thereafter, the site was demolished as part of sitewide environmental remediation efforts during "Operation Clean Sweep". Today the former WACS site is occupied by a support and dormitory building for visiting technicians.
