Historic farmhouse listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

Built: 1935
Architectural style: log cabin
Area: 5 acres
Outbuildings: barn; several sheds
Also known as: Bacon House
Date added to NRHP: 6/21/1991
Other designations: Settlement and Economic Development of Alaska's Matanuska-Susitna Valley Multiple Property Submission
Current occupant: The Klutter Shack Thrift Shop - occupies one of the outbuildings on the property. The house itself is still a private residence.
Notes: This farmhouse was built as part of a New Deal program that established farms in Alaska for needy families from overcrowded rural areas in the lower 48 states. Unlike most of the other farms and farmhouses built in this area as part of the program, Puhl House was not built by Works Progress Administration crews. Rather, it was built by the family that originally inhabited it, with materials procured by them.
