Notes: This site represents one of the earliest known human settlements in the Aleutian Islands, and was possibly settled by users of the Bering land bridge, across which it is believed that nomadic people from Asia traveled to the North American continent. Thousands of archeologically significant artifacts have been discovered here, including remnants of at least eight houses.
