Operational from 1942 until June 1945. The site was briefly used for a Navy salvage contract. It was also used as a transfer port for supplies destined for Fort Glenn on Umnak Island as well as in the defense of the neighboring islands. Most of the remaining debris can be found on both sides of Mutton Cove on Chernofski Harbor, on the north side of the Island. Other debris is located on Cutter Point. The remaining debris consists of docks, a coal pile, buildings, communications towers, a submarine net, barbed wire, petroleum, oil, and lubricant drums, pipelines, batteries, etc., which pose a hazard to the general public and the environment.
