6-story Italianate residential building originally completed with five floors in 1848. The granite-faced building was constructed for David Selden in 1847-48 as part of his Irving House hotel, which had its main entrance on Broadway. This is the sole remaining section of one of New York's most fashionable mid-nineteenth-century hotels. The Irving House closed sometime around 1859, and this part of the hotel, which was in separate ownership from the rest of the building, was adapted for use as a store-and-loft building. It contained a restaurant on the ground floor, and storerooms for dry good on the upper floors. The 6th floor was added in 1867.

The facade has three bays of square-headed windows. The 5th floor is topped by a black metal bracketed cornice. The sixth story, faced in brick, has historic cast-iron shutters flanking the west bay. A black metal fire escape covers most of the facade. From the 1930s to the 1960s tenants included firearms dealer J.L. Galef; restaurants such as the A. Schmidt Co. cafe, Peck's Bar and Restaurant, and the Panama Restaurant; a factory for the Feldheim Chair Co.; and the Madison Export Co. Is in now residential apartments, with the ground floor occupied by a Sprint Wireless store.
