The Chicago Gun Club was on the lakefront just north of Diversey Harbor. Shotguns and rifles could be heard as members shot at clay skeet plates flying overhead, barrels pointed in the direction of the lake. It was closed sometime in the late 1960's, it's closing primarily due to concern about the amount of lead being deposited into lake water, as well as Chicago's changing attitude at the time regarding firearm possession and use.
