ghost town, historical layer / disappeared object
This outline represents the borders of the original town of Liverpool, built in 1836, before it was destroyed by a fire. The city was meant to grow into a metropolis to rival Chicago. With the Panic of 1837 and the loss of its status as county seat, however, the city was almost completely abandoned.
