farm, NRHP - National Register of Historic Places, almshouse, American Civil War 1861-1865
Historic almshouse and poor farm dating to 1829, with a kitchen wing added around 1850. Part of the property was occupied by Union troops in the lead-up to the Civil War Battle of Tom's Brook, which was fought on October 9th, 1864. Also known as Shenandoah County Almshouse and Beckford Parish Glebe Farm, the property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
