A developing semi-urban neighborhood. Formerly a large family farm that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) considered as a site for its consolidated facility that is now under construction at White Oak near Silver Spring, Maryland. The City of Rockville, which had opposed FDA's use of the site, subsequently annexed the farm at the request of a developer.

  • they call it this cause it used to be a farm owned by a man named King.
  • I suppose one could call any neighborhood a "source of traffic congestion." Along that line of reasoning, we could also call it a source of tax revenue, enlightened minds, creative development, important assets, highly-educated residents, beneficial neighbors, etc.
  • I forgot to mention: because of the closeness in proximity of King Farm to the Shady Grove Metro station (across the street), a high percentage of the residents living there are in fact NOT contributing to vehicle traffic congestion, instead using the subway system.
  • It is a wonderful neighborhood.
  • Best place I have ever lived.....I miss it!
