Historic site of a 17th century plantation that was the home of Sir William Berkeley, one of the original Colonial governors of Virginia. Although there are no complete structures remaining on the property, foundations and remnants of the manor house and other buildings still exist. There are currently active archaeological sites on the property as well. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
