 condominiums, interesting place, Modern (architecture)

135-foot, 11-story residential building completed in 2019 for Centaur Properties and Greyscale Development Group. Designed by Isay Weinfeld and SBLM Architects, it spans the block, with a tower fronting 28th Street, and another on 27th, separated by a landscaped courtyard on a 1-story base.

The north building on 28th Street has a concrete ground floor, and the upper floors are clad in dark-red brick on the north side, up to a setback above the 8th floor, with the top floors also faced in concrete. The upper floors have eight bays of windows, some single-windows and some double-windows, varying in position on different floors. Some of the windows are fronted by grey metal balconies projecting out to varying degrees, while the others have metal railings over the lower halves. The set-back top floors have floor-to-ceiling windows in bands that are interrupted by concrete pilasters at various locations, changing floor to floor. Some have recessed balconies. The rear, south-facing facade of the north tower also features this design, without the brick seen on the lower floors. At the east end of the ground floor is an opening into a brick-vaulted private drive that extends through the base of the building to 27th Street and also leads directly to the lobby.

The smaller south tower on 27th Street rises only 10 floors, and is clad in dark-red brick on its northern section, with white brick on the smaller south portion, which reaches only the 8th floor. A 1-story extension of the ground floor reaches to the east, and has the southern entry into the brick vaulted private drive. The white-brick south facade encases slightly-recessed bands of windows, each beginning at a different point from the western edge. Each window band gives way to a recessed balcony area at the east end, with metal railings, wrapping around to the south part of the east-facing north elevation of the tower. The red-brick section to the north has another window band on each floor, each beginning and ending at different points.

The complex contains just 36 condominium units.
