- Charles Wingfield, Jr. - county magistrate and sheriff
- Martin Dawson - prominent businessman and co-founder of the Rivanna Navigation Company, which built a series of locks along the Rivanna River. Dawson also supported the formation of the University of Virginia (UVA), as well as three other academies in Central Virginia.
