4-story cooperative-apartment building with an interesting history. The original house was built in 1811 for Henry Bayard, and a second house was built in 1836 on the Perry Street side for Joel Miller, a chairmaker. In 1853, the two houses were rebuilt after a fire had practically destroyed them. The entire building, as seen today, incorporates the two rebuilt houses. This corner building, like the three to the south, was remodeled in 1928 in the popular Spanish Colonial style by architect Ferdinand Savignano. The design of the ground floor windows adheres closely to that of No. 729, and, the topmost sections of the house feature projecting shed roofs of tile on the Perry Street side. The parapet which tops the building has an unusual, stepped pattern with curves making the transition between the steps.
