apartment building, 1884_construction
5-story residential building completed in 1884. Designed by William F. Niebuhr, it consists of three sections of different widths, each with its own entry. The facade is clad in dark red-painted brick. The low brick stoops lead up to arched entranceways. The windows have simple sills and plain lintels, which are in character with the Greek Revival design of the older residences on the block. The three sections are crowned by a continuous, elaborately detailed cornice with joversized brackets, which unifies them.
