5-story French Second Empire-style residential building completed in 1870. Designed by J.J. Howard, it is one of the city's early apartment houses. The mansard roof, reflecting the Second Empire style, reached the zenith of its popularity in the United States in the early 1870s. The rest of the building is clad in red brick, with brick chimneys breaking the mansard in places above a bracketed roof cornice. The ground floor is occupied by Cubbbyhole, a gay bar.
