The National Palace of Culture is the biggest multi-functional congress, conference, convention and exhibition center in Southeastern Europe. It was opened in 1981 for 1300 years of establishment of Bulgaria. It is known as NDK, and is one of the most popular landmark in Sofia.

  • Right after its building, it was originally named after Ludmila Jipkova the daughter of Bulgarian communist leader Todor Jipkov after she died from a sudden stroke as a member of Politburo of BKP. It is a really beautiful construction.
  • NDK is probably Bulgaria's most recognizable building.
