 condominiums, 1886_construction

6-story residential building completed in 1886. Designed by Gustavus Isaacs, who was also the owner, as a factory and loft building. The 1st floor is framed by cast-iron columns, with a facade of red brick above. The windows of the upper stories have been designed with simple stone lintels and sills. The building is crowned by an elaborately detailed, heavy cornice with brackets, with an impressive pediment of the same design at the center. The building was converted to condominiums in the late 1900s. Located inside was the condo of actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, where he was found dead of a drug overdose on February 2, 2014.
