3-story Federal-style residential building completed in 1826 as a 2.5-story townhouse, it is the oldest building on Barrow Street, and one of the oldest remaining houses in Greenwich Village. The original pitched roof with dormers was raised to a full third floor in the late 1800s. The facade is clad in red brick, with simple stone window sills and lintels. A walkway at the left side led to a small frame building, presumably a stable, at the rear of the lot, and built before 1854.
