 condominium, 2002_construction

10-story modernist residential building completed in 2002. It was originally a 3-story mercantile building from 1961. It was completely rebuilt, with a 7-story addition to create the current structure, designed by Garrett Gourlay. It is faced in orange brick, with a fairly regular 2-story base that spans five bays on 6th Avenue, and is lined with storefronts on the ground floor. The brick piers have light fixtures between the two floors, and the base is capped by a small rounded cornice.

The upper floors have numerous setbacks and eight terraces, one of which is angled on the 6th floor at the avenue corner. Metal railings enclose the terraces. The casement windows are of various sizes, most with vents located below.

The building contains 17 condominium units. The ground floor is occupied by Sweat440 Fitness Chelsea, Sally Beauty, a Verizon wireless store, and an AT&T wireless store.
