Same building as the now-defunct 1955 Esquire Ballroom (a country venue in its own right where many country singers once played for the next forty years), this opened as Texas' largest country LGBT bar in 2013. At some point in the late 1990s or early 2000s, it was "El Planeta Rojo" (a Latino-focused venue), according to the website "West Houston Archives".
