The Lavender Heights District is a centrally located community in Midtown Sacramento. [1] Notably considered to be one of the most progressive neighborhoods in Sacramento, the Lavender Heights is the residential and commercial hub of Sacramento's gay and lesbian community. Most of all the gay bars in Sacramento are located in the Lavender Heights area. The LGBT community center, "Lambda Community Center" is also based in this neighborhood.
