Midtown is a neighborhood just east of Downtown Sacramento bounded by W Street on the South, C Street on the North, 16th Street on the West and 29th Street on the East. It's a largely residential community with tree-lined streets and old victorians. It is also the center of Sacramento's art, music, and cultural scene. Boutiques, bars, clubs, upscale, and casual dining abound. Popular in this neighborhood is Second Saturday. On the second Saturday of each month, local art galleries and businesses in Sacramento stay open late into the evening, inviting people to take a glimpse at an impressive variety of local art and artists. All types of venues participate: in a single night you can see live music, fire dancing, and bronze casting demonstrations, all within a few blocks of one another.

  • Midtown is very walkable - one can live without a car here if he chooses.
