Downtown Sacramento is the central district of the city of Sacramento, California. The district is defined as north of R Street, south of H Street, east of the Sacramento River, and west of 16th Street. Downtown Sacramento is currently undergoing a major revitalization that includes new highrise office towers. In 2007, a new zip code was added to Downtown Sacramento to accommodate the future Railyards Project which is expected to bring 20,000 additional residents to the central city.
