On display at McAlester Army Ammunition Plant is an example of the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb that was produced at the plant from 2002-2004. Presently the largest non-nuclear weapon in the US Air Force inventory, the M.O.A.B is a large-yield thermobaric air-dropped munition designed to attack soft to medium surface targets in a large area. Commonly called the "Mother of All Bombs", the GBU-43 is presently combat capable and is usually assigned to airwings flying the MC-130E Combat Talon I or MC-130H Combat Talon II aircraft.
