residence, abandoned / shut down, townhouse
2.5-story Federal-style house completed in 1825 for Anthony Arnoux. Although it is now used for commercial purposes, this house remained as a dwelling long well past the time of other commercial developments on this block. Following Arnoux's tenure it became a brothel.
The structure is clad in red brick with a pair of peaked dormers above the roof. There is a round-arched entrance on the north side of the ground floor with a small stoop; the two bays to the south have rather crudely modified windows above a stone-clad basement.
