This is the infamous lake in Benti Village originally owned by Raja Bhaiyya.
He had built the 427-hectare lake on land that actually belonged to hundreds of Kunda villagers as per reports.
The lake had several crocodiles and UP Police found a human skeleton in it. In the year 2002 the Benti lake was confiscated by the Mayawati Government after POTA (A Terrorism Act) was slapped on Raja Bhaiya.
After confiscation, the Pond was declared " Wildlife Sanctuary" and was officially renamed as "Bhimrao Dr. Ambedkar Bird Sanctuary".
The Work on this Sanctuary is currently stopped due to change in government.
