This was a rural settlement in Section 13-138-55, Clifton Township named for John Wadeson, a pioneer settler in the area. Some sources list this as a post office, but government records do not confirm this claim. It is thought that about 1893 Mr. Wadeson did establish a mail drop in association with the nearby Petersen post office. When the Northern Pacific Railroad built through this area in 1900, a new townsite named Alice was founded, and WADESON became the western part of that city.
