ghost town, historical layer / disappeared object
This Great Northern Railroad station was established in 1880 as WILLIAMS, and a short-lived post office was here 1881-1882. That year the new townsite of Davenport became dominant in the area and this site, Sections 15 & 22-138-51, Addison Township was renamed ADDISON. The post office was established March 30, 1888, and was discontinued November 30, 1920 with mail to Davenport. The station, at the junction of a branch line to Chaffee, survived as a small village for many years. Louie Gillan, living here in 1957, was its last resident. The only remains of Addison are photographs.
