Fargo is a city in and the county seat of Cass County, North Dakota, United States. The population was 122,359 at the 2017 census estimate, which makes it the largest city in North Dakota.

Founded in 1871, Fargo is a major cultural, retail, health care, educational, and industrial center. The city is home to North Dakota State University, and is located in the Red River valley of the North floodplain.
