 bar, apartment building, 1800s construction

3-story mercantile building erected as a two-story dewlling in 1805. In 1876-77 owner William Watson, a dry-goods merchant, transformed the building into a three-story structure in the neo-Grec style with red brick facades, a variegated brick commercial base, and new window embellishment. It is crowned by a bracketed black metal roof cornice. During the mid-1970s, the building returned to its original use when apartments were legalized on the upper two stories. On the ground floor, a divey topless bar called the Baby Doll Lounge opened in 1975, and closed sometime around 2000. The ground floor currently houses the Petrarca wine bar.
