483 Tenth Avenue

USA / New Jersey / West New York / Tenth Avenue, 483

6-story office building completed in 1890. It is clad in red brick above a beige sandstone ground floor. Along the east facade on the avenue the ground floor spans eight bays, with windows with grey metal grid framing recessed between the piers. The southernmost bay has a plate-glass window, with a storefront entrance in the next bay that has glass doors in a glass surround. The main building entrance is in the 4th bay from the south, with a glass revolving door. The next two bays to the right have glass double-doors into commercial spaces set into glass walls.

The upper floors have 16 bays of single-windows with flat, grey stone lintels and sills. The windows on the top floor are round-arched, with brick voussoirs, and the facade is crowned by a corbelled brick parapet and thin metal roof cornice.

The north facade on 37th Street has 17 bays. At the ground floor, the 2nd bay from the east is missing, and the 9th bay from the east has a metal door atop a small metal stoop with a sideways staircase. The western three bays are replaced by a garage door and metal service door at the ground floor, and the four bays to the left have shorter windows, with a short garage door below the western two. The roof line has the same parapet and cornice, but the middle section is raised and forms a shallow peak. The ground floor along the avenue is occupied by Finn's Bagels, and FUEL Health Market.
