This bridge carries 11th Street Southeast over Anacostia River, as well as over Anacostia Drive Southeast and the East Bank Trail. It is a five span, steel beam bridge with concrete deck constructed from 2009 to 2012. The bridge is part of the 11th Street Bridge complex built to replace two freeway bridges from the 1960s and opened to traffic in May 2012. From the sidewalk on the southbound side, the bridge includes two pedestrian overlooks on the piers of the former (1969) bridge.
