14-story school completed in 1972 as a 13-story hospital research building. Designed by Rogers, Butler & Burgun, it opened as the Roosevelt Hospital Research Building, and was later used by Mount Sinai Medical Systems.

The new facade is clad in beige stone at the 2-story base and along the west end. Dominating the front are four double-height round-arches with glass-and-metal infill, including the main entrances at the east side, under metal canopies. The west end, next to the four arches, has a pair of metal service doors, above which is a bay of single-windows at each floor. Above the arches, the upper floors are clad in a 6-story blue glass curtain wall in each bay, separated by stone piers. The 9th floor also has large glass windows, topped by a projecting cornice.

There is a setback above the 9th floor, with a landscaped terrace. The set-back 10th-12th floors are clad in orange brick; these floors also have four bays of large windows. Topping the building is a 2-story, grey metal-clad penthouse. The west elevation is beige stone at the front, with the school's seal at the 2nd floor, and a band of double-windows starting at the 3rd floor and running up to the 8th, with grey metal spandrels in between. The rear portion is clad in orange brick.

In 2014 it was purchased by Carnegie Hill-based La Scuola d’Italia (an independent, bi-lingual Pre-K through 12 private school) and converted into a school building with 28 classrooms, a library, media center, gym, dining facility, and additional academic amenities. A new facade was installed, and an atrium built on the inside, completed in 2016. The building allowed the school to consolidate its two Upper East Side facilities into its new Midtown West location, allowing enrollment to increase from 300 to 700 students.

In 2018, the building was purchased back by the hospital and subsequently rebuilt with a new exterior. The latest facade consists of a new curtain wall composed of modern glass paneling arranged in a grid of 16 large rectangles spanning two stories each. A triangular canopy extends over the sidewalk and ground-floor frontage.
