 apartment building, 1881_construction

5-story Neo-Grec residential building completed in 1881. It is clad in stone that was painted dark-grey in 2016. The entrance is at the east end of the ground floor, with black wood-and-glass double-doors atop a low set of steps that cross a basement areaway. Thin, black-painted, fluted pilasters frame the doorway, with a cornice above it. At the west end is a double-window with three black pilasters and a cornice, and in the middle is a slightly narrower double-window (with no center pilaster) that has a taller cornice. A black iron fence surrounds the basement windows and areaway.

The upper floors have end bays of single-windows, and a middle bay of joined, paired windows, all set in projecting, black-painted stone surrounds with bracketed sills, fluted pilasters, and cornices. A black metal fire escape runs down the center of the facade, which is crowned by a black metal roof cornice with brackets and paneling, each decorated with four medallions.
