5-story cooperative-apartment building completed in 1929. It is clad in dark red-painted brick with white stone and terra-cotta trim, five bays wide. The central entrance is atop a small, grey-brown granite stoop with wrought-iron handrails, and there are iron fences on either side, enclosing basement areaways. The entrance has a glass-and-wood door framed by white pilasters with delicate incised ornament; above is an entablature with the word "ASHFIELD" between two rosettes and topped by a pediment. The ground-floor windows have white iron grilles and planter boxes.

A white band course separates the basement windows, and there are widely-spaced white quoins at the edges of the facade. The windows all have eared white lintels with delicate incised ornament, joined at the shoulder by white-painted bands; additional bands run below the window sills, broken by air-conditioning vents cut below the end-bay windows. A black metal fire escape runs down the middle bay and the one to the left. The facade is crowned by a white metal roof cornice with brackets, a patterned frieze, and panels with shells.

It was converted to a cooperative in 1980, with 20 apartments.
