The Clinton Club

 condominium, 1986_construction

7-story postmodern residential building completed in 1986. Designed by Seymour Churgin, it is clad in red brick. The 5-bay facade is fronted by a low brick wall with sections of metal railings enclosing planter boxes. The main entrance, with glass double-doors and sidelights, is in the center bay, which is delineated by a pair of vertical bands of slightly-projecting brick laid in a different pattern. There is a grey metal canopy above the doors, surmounted by a tower of slightly-projecting grey-metal cladding with tripartite windows; the end panes are quite narrow, and there are vents in the spandrels between each floor. The tower ends at the top of the 7th floor, where there is a tall, fluted, grey metal parapet with a metal coping topping the facade. Similar parapets cap the other four bays, each of which is slightly set back from the more central bays.

The bays flanking the center bay have tripartite windows with thin, white stone sills and grey metal vents cut below. The end bays, the furthest set-back, have double-windows with thin stone sills and vents below. The west elevation is clad in red brick with no openings. At the middle of the roof is a tall water tank enclosure. The building contains 34 condominium units.
