 apartment building, commercial building

6-story residential building completed in 1887 as a 5-story building; the 6th floor was added later. The narrow facade is clad in beige brick with red-painted stone and terra-cotta trim. The ground floor is red-painted stone with an entrance at the east side. It has a wooden door with a glass pane, below a small, rounded, red canvas clamshell canopy, and flanked by wall lanterns. The entrance is reached by a small stoop that crosses the basement areaway, which is enclosed by an iron fence. To the left of the door is a square window with an iron grille, and below this window is smaller one at the basement level.

The 2nd floor is set off by a slightly-projecting stone band with widely-spaced dentils; at the upper corners of this band are carved and painted panels with cartouches. Breaking the middle of the band is the 2nd-floor tripartite window. It is lined by vertical red moldings with dentiled inner edges, extending up to the 5th floor. The upper floors also have tripartite windows with rough-faced stone sills. The brick in the spandrels in more orange in color than that at the ends of the facade, and air-conditioning vents have been cut below the windows. The roof line is marked by a plain stone coping.
