Circa 1900. Brick and yellow terracotta. Three storeys plus attic; 2 bays separated by polygonal turrets now only through first and second floors plus the canted corner and the return on Lower Severn Street.

Edwards Number 8 was a legendary rock and metal nightclub, locally known as 'Eddies'. The club was destroyed by fire in a suspected accident on November 12th 2006, luckily no one was injured.

The façade was saved and the building has since been reconstructed within the façade to create an office building by Birmingham Properties Group, who are now advertising it for sale as a headquarters building. The building became a EasyHotel with Turtle Bay restaurant on the ground floor.

  • Yep, its a bit of a mess now. Then again, considering the amount of redevelopment in the area, I had a feeling its days were numbered anyway. Cant see this being rebuilt.
  • The owner was selling up anyway to set up a new club. This is going to get rebuilt. A planning application was submitted.
