Hudson Terrace

USA / New Jersey / West New York / West 46th Street, 621
bar, night club, event management company

4.5-story event space and commercial building originally completed around 1900 as a stable. It was completely renovated in 2006, and opened as a multi-use facility known as Hudson Terrace. The facade is clad in cast-concrete organized into four bays; the lower floors of the taller neighboring building to the east match.

Each bay is framed by a pier with vertical grooves, and the spandrels between floors have 3-D geometric patterns. On the ground floor the west bay has two sets of metal-and-glass double-doors below metal louvers and a red canvas awning. The middle two bays have glass-and-metal roll-down garage doors, and the east bay has another garage door paired with a glass-and-metal double-door. The 2nd floor has windows with four large panes in the middle two bays, and five panes at the outer bays, all with aluminum framing. The 3rd floor has similar windows, but they are taller, with two rows of shorter upper panes across the tops. The 4th floor is slightly set back, and has a long band of windows in seven bays of either two or three large panes, with each bay separated by a thin, wood-paneled mullion. A wood-and-metal cornice caps this floor at the lower roof line.
