This village, established in 16th century, has a very old temple of Goddess Durga. The goddes Durga at Kadamanikpur is said to have blessed the establishment of this temple. Politically, it played a very important role in the struggles during British rule. At Indepedence, separate colleges for boys and girls were opened to commemorate the liberation from tyranny.

  • This Village is clan of Rajpoots origin . Brief history is as follows: The Sainthwars are not a single family but they comprise of 36-37 clans of Rajputs who had to migrate to easern u.p. from Punjab , Rajsthan and Kashmir during the reign of Jahangir. In 1625 Jahangir was taken into custody by his ex General Mahawat Khan in Kashmir . He was assisted by Raja Nattha Mall of Majhauli and other Rajputs including Raja Moti Das of Sihat in Jalandhar ( Punjab ).However the rebel was crushed by Noorjahan's skill and force. The defeated Rajputs had to flee in different parts of the country. A group of 36-37 types of Rajput families led by Raja Moti Das of Sihat fled to eastern u.p. and took shelter in Majhauli and nearby regions at the invitation of Raja Nattha Mall of Majhauli as they were in the same army led by Mahawat Khan. these 36-37 clans of Rajputs were later on called as Sihatwars or Sainthwars on the name of their leader Raja Moti Das's old estate Sihat. The Sainthwars considered themselves to be of purest breed of Rajputs and they made marital ties with only those Rajputs who according to them were of so they kept on marrying within these 36-37 clans of Rajputs who were later on known as Sainthwars. These clans are described in AINE-AKBARI at different pages.( for details see VISHEN VANSH DARPAN . Please scan it from the book.) So it's conclusive that this village is basically Rajpoot's village ! Read more at http://rajputms.co.in/rajputms/H_02.asp http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Shalendrasingh/Mall_Sainthwar_Rajputs

  • There were 2 brothers Shekh Rai and Siraj Rai from Sainthwar community. Shekh Rai established the village Shekhwania ( Now Sakhwania) and Siraj Rai established Shirajpur (Now Shivrajpur). Once Shekh Rai with other villagers was going to Gorakhpur for hearing of some court case. Near Kushmi Jungle he met an old lady ( she was the vandevi of kusmi jungle "Budhiya Maai") Shekh Rai touched her feet. She said " Son I come with you to the court and you will win the case but promise me that you will give me place in your village" Shekh Rai won the case but the old lady disappeared. Shekh Rai got to know that she was none other than the Budhiya Maai roop of Maa Durga. Shekh Rai came to his village and made a beautiful temple on the heighest mound of the village. The temple is still there. The Sirname "Rai" later changed to "Singh". After independence one man of Saithwar community Vanshraj Singh took initiative for the establishment of schools in the village. With the help of the then government and villagers he opened two schools, Mahatma Gandhi Inter College for boys and Kastoorba Kanya Girls High School fir girls. He used to see the management of the school and give shelter to the poor students and the teachers also. Vanshraj Singh understood the importance of education and tried to contribute his most. I have been brought up listening his stories. Such people must be remembered.
