Stone memorial set into the ground marking the spot where Louis Bleriot landed behind Dover Castle (in Northfall Meadow) after his historic first flight across the English Channel on Sunday, 25th July, 1909.

See the wikipedia link (bottom of page) for more information.

The memorial can be quite difficult to get to. The 'cross-hairs' or 'white cross' in the center of the following wikimapia maps show the path entry points leading to it.

NNE:

WSW:

Once you know the entry points, the actual path can be traced through the trees on the satellite image.

Note: If you enter the WSW way, the path branches after 40 metres or so - take the lefthand turning.
