Built by Studebaker, the M29 Weasel is a tracked transport vehicle designed primarily for operation in snowy conditions but also performed capably in difficult/amphibious terrain.
Used primarily by the US Army, the Weasel entered service in 1943 and saw use in the European Theatre during the Second World War and use by US and NATO forces for several decades after.
Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park's M29C is presently under restoration to a winter camouflage appearance and was donated to the park by the local US Army Reserve Unit.
