Naval Industrial Reserve Ordnance Plant (NIROP) was a defense weapons manufacturing and research & development site which sat on 160 acres and contained 45 buildings in Pomona, California. NIROP was owned by the U.S. Department of Navy and was operated by General Dynamics Missile Division from 1952 until the operations were acquired by Hughes Missile Systems Company in 1992. Hughes continued operations until 1994, when the plant was closed and returned to the Navy. The property was later subdivided and sold to private industrial and commercial businesses.
