A primitive camping area located on the east side of the Imperial sand dunes. Hard packed enough for 2 wheel drives to get in. Turn onto Olgilby road from rt8 head north a mile or so. Turn left just before the RR crossing the bear left and follow the telephone pole road to the Tall antenna.
The dunes in this area are not too friendly. They are not terribly tall and have many steep drop-offs. Because this is the lee side of the dunes the sand after the drop-offs are very fine and powdery. Two-wheelers get stuck easily sometimes dropping the wheels into the powder causing an abrupt stoppage.
