Factors Row, the seven easternmost buildings, was built in 1858 and designed by Lewis Reynolds to house the cotton factors. Shop space was located on the ground level, office space above. Although the building looks like one, the seven structures are separated by party walls at the double brackets visible on the front. A parapet wall hides the pitched roofs of the buildings. At one time, most of the commercial buildings in the American sector were Italianate. This continuous row of nine building is the longest grouping of Italianate commercial buildings in New Orleans, and one of the few still existing.
