Kailahat derives its name from "Koila Haat" in local language, which means Coal market. It was a major market for nearby areas in the Dhaab area. For all nearby village Pachewara, Naugaraha, bela, Nakahara, Vishunpura, Bagahi,Jalajpur Mafi, Dkhsitpur etc , Kailahat used to be main market for essential commodities and vegetable. Kailahat has got a railway station too. This is next stop from Chunar junction.

The main railway crossing also happens to be in Kailahat only. This is major connctivity point for the entire Dhaab area.
