Now the future site for the future Manhasset Crest Development by the Manhasset Bay Group/Lifestyle International Holdings, in construction on the former remaining land of "Inisfada". It operated for many decades as the St. Ignatius Jesuit Retreat House until the Jesuits finally decided to sell the 33 acre property in August 2013 to a foreign development company. Demolition sadly began in early December and was completed by February 2014 to make way for construction of new homes.

  • At the time, home was the 4th largest US private residence, about 100,000 sq ft.
  • During my 1990's visit an office administrator there said development strategies had whittled down all but 20 acres now surrounding Inisfada - the absolute minimum acreage those nice folks wish to offer prospective retreat goers (unless as an indoor only venue which is too absurd for discussion).
