Wildorado WInd Ranch is a wind farm located on approximately 16,000 acres (6,500 ha) in the canyon-lands about 4-6 miles north of Interstate 40, very roughly between Exits 36 (Vega) and 49 (Wildorado), and about 27 miles west of central Amarillo, Texas. Commissioned in 2007, it consists of 70 Siemens SWT-2.3-93 wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 161 MW.
