Bereketska mound is the largest prehistoric settlement in Europe. It is 17.5 meters high and has a diameter at its base of 250 meters. Around the mound in a distance of 300 to 600 meters there is a cultural layer with a thickness of 1 to 3 m. It belongs to the satellite settlements of Neolithic and Copper Age (VI –V millennium BC). The prehistoric settlement arose on the right bank of Bereket River at the foot of Sarnena gora mountain. The first inhabitants of this village came to this place in the early Neolithic period (the end of VII and the beginning of VI millennium BC). Life here with few interruptions lasted until the Middle Ages (XII-XIV century).
