office building, government
Built in the early 20th Century as the headquarters of the Deutsche Bank, these buildings are today used to house various government ministries.
Block I, the northern building, was built from 1872 to 1874 to a design by architects Ende & Böckmann.
Block II, the southern building with a curved facade at Mauerstraße No. 25-28, was added in 1908 to a design by Wilhelm Martens.
The building across the street from Block II was bought in 1914 and became Block III, but it was not originally designed as part of the complex. However all three buildings are today landmarked.
